On Saturday, September 18th, 2010, Mill Pond Manor in coalition with their sponsor, Saline Community Directions, will host the Saline Senior Citizens Day. Highlighting the day will be a 1:00 pm parade featuring seniors in antique cars, the American Legion's Honor Guard, seniors on floats, on motorcycles, on motorized scooters, and seniors performing musically.
The parade, which will begin at the corner of Bennett and North Ann Arbor Street, will end at Mill Pond Manor, 460 W. Russell. At Mill Pond Manor the festivities will continue with a cook-out and music, provided by the Saline Fiddlers Re-Strung.
The goal of Saline Senior Citizens Day is to celebrate seniors, to increase community awareness of senior citizens' vitality and community participation, and to make known Saline's senior support system--Saline Evangelical Home, Brecon Village, Saline Senior Citizen Center, St. Joseph Mercy Hospital-Saline Campus, and area churches.
