"Downtown Saline is a great place to set up a professional services business. The downtown atmosphere is attractive to professionals and provides access the many amenities like great restaurants that you just can't get in an office park. Unlike downtown Ann Arbor, downtown Saline has plenty of free parking for our employees, a benefit they really enjoy."
We located downtown for the foot traffic, natural exposure, and felt that our business was complimentary to the other businesses in town. We also feel that the abundant and free parking is a definite plus. The current businesses in town understand personal service and we all tend to attract a demographic that appreciates and supports small, local business. There is very little overlap of services, except food, and we all freely send customers to each other. In addition to local customers, we often see people from out of town looking to spend a day browsing and shopping. Almost all of us are civic and community minded and freely gives of time and resources to make the downtown experience enjoyable.
Back when we started our business, we had plenty of help from community leaders. The staff at City Hall was very business friendly and supportive.
As we approach our 2 year anniversary in business, we are thankful we chose to locate in the immediate downtown area and we are sure that this has contributed to our success.
Having worked in professional sports for 15 years and moving 14 times all over the USA, my wife and I finally found our home. We don’t have any family here, nor any family with-in 400 miles, we have grade school children and the best neighbors in the world! And trust me; we have intimate knowledge of 14 different communities across our great nation. Saline Rocks!!!!
Now the bad news……. I had to take a transfer in 2005; it was my dream job, A lobbyist in NYC!!!! Well, after 3 years of hard work and failing to build a NASCAR facility in NYC I was asked to move to corporate office, Daytona Beach, Fla. Yuck, Florida I said! I countered with coming back to MIS and they granted my wish! So here we are again living in the best community, best school system and best overall environment, and I might also add my best friends! This is what makes Saline our home!
"As one of the best companies to work for in Europe, Unimerco chose Saline out of all the favorable locations in the United States and Canada to establish its North American Headquarters. The combination of its proximity to seven mid-western states and Canada's manufacturing companies, major airport hub, top-notch schools from kindergarten to universities, and a beautiful, tranquil community for our employees made Saline the top location choice for our company. We have been very pleased with our decision and continue to maintain our best company to work for reputation for many years now."
"Toyota Technical Center enjoys a 30 year history in the Ann Arbor region and has successfully grown its Research and Development operations during this period. Toyota is pleased to have recently completed the expansion of its second campus located on 700 acres in York Township with a Saline address. The decision to expand in York Township, Saline, and Washtenaw County has been strongly supported by the residents and public officials in these communities. Toyota is grateful for this positive support and is sincere in its commitment to be a good neighbor in these communities. "
From: Liebherr Aerospace Saline, Inc
The City of Saline has been supportive by accommodating the needs of Liebherr in the past 20 years, as well as showing an eagerness to support the company in the future.
The infrastructure provided has the attention of a small town, but offers big town movement. The residential offering in conjunction with a superior school system reflects a well balanced and attractive community.
I moved my business to downtown Saline in November 2008 and I am so glad I did, it has been a wonderful experience. I want to start by saying what a warm welcome I received from the city of Saline, the downtown merchants, and the community. I was very impressed. They are very supportive of the downtown businesses. There are lots of people traveling through here on a daily basis from other towns which make for some diversity. Not only are people traveling through daily, they come here to shop, eat, and walk around. Saline has a very nice downtown. Parking is not an issue with multiple parking lots behind the buildings, there is always somewhere to park. I have never had a complaint on the parking. I feel lucky to have found a space for lease here, my rent is very reasonable for being in a downtown area. If I could open 10 more businesses here I would. I can’t say enough good things about downtown Saline, it’s a great place to have a business.
